As weddings, garden parties and events return to our calendars, now is the perfect time to elevate your wardrobe with intentional occasionwear you’ll actually want to wear again.

For this week’s Sunday Sustainable Fashion Picks, I’ve collaborated with the brilliant British boutique Percy Langley to curate a special edit of pieces they’ll be showcasing at the Good Clothes Show, all centred around the show's theme: “The Season.” Think beautiful dresses for standout moments—designed with purpose, and styled with personality.
Why Percy Langley?
Percy Langley isn’t just a boutique - it’s a movement. Founded in 2020 by retail experts Poppy Sherbrooke and Georgina Whall, the brand was born from a shared desire to create fashion with real meaning. With over 30 years of combined experience in British retail, they stepped away from the high street during the pandemic to build something slower and more connected.
Their mission? To empower both the wearer and the maker.
Percy Langley champions over 30 British independent designers, curating collections that honour craftsmanship, conscious materials, and timeless silhouettes. Poppy and George work closely with their designers to ensure every piece is ethically made and beautifully finished—often using heritage textiles or deadstock fabrics. They also shine a light on women designing for women, creating garments that feel as good as they look.
It’s this blend of ethics, artistry, and elegance that makes them the perfect partner for this summer style edit.
My Occasionwear Edit
I’ve selected a capsule of standout dresses from Percy Langley’s summer collection—each one styled with shoes, bags, and jewellery to show how versatile and wearable occasionwear can be. The edit draws on three key themes.
1. Red Alert
Confident, bold, and made to turn heads—red brings energy to any event. The Minkie Studio tiered dress is a celebration in itself. Styled with matching red shoes and statement handbag from Percy Langley, it’s a look that radiates confidence. The burgundy Albaray dress is much more paired back and simplistic, you could let the shoes & accessories do all the talking and add some statement gold pieces.

2. Polka Dot Play
A classic reimagined. The polka dot is playful yet polished—the kind of print that works for daytime weddings, lunches or elevated everyday dressing. I’ve added black accessories and flats for relaxed elegance.

3. Earth Tones
These IRIS dresses are all about grounded glamour. In warm khaki, and a beautiful rose print, they’re endlessly versatile. I love them styled with textured bags, neutral shoes, and gold jewellery for that sun-kissed simplicity.

How to Wear the Edit
One of the reasons I love curating edits like this is to show that occasionwear doesn’t have to be “one and done.” Here are a few ways to get more from these pieces:
• Style down with ease – Add trainers and a denim jacket for a weekend-ready look
• Layer it up – A cropped knit or tailored blazer turns these dresses into smart daytime staples
• Switch the accessories – The same dress takes on a whole new energy with a change of bag or shoe
Why Shopping Independent Matters
In a world of fast fashion and fleeting trends, brands like Percy Langley offer something enduring. They invite us to slow down, invest in quality, and dress in a way that supports a more ethical and meaningful version of fashion.
As a Stylist, I love helping women discover brands that align with their values—and as a former Buyer, I know how much care goes into producing clothes like these.
Let’s Make It a Season to Remember
