The Ultimate Secondhand September Online Shopping Guide

I know preloved shopping online is something my clients can struggle with, due to sizing and lack of returns, so in this post I've focused on my top tips and on preloved sellers who do offer returns, to make things easy! Shopping preloved online opens up your options and allows you to be more focused and specific, than shopping in your local charity shop.

The Ultimate Secondhand September Online Shopping Guide

My Top 8 Tips for Shopping Secondhand September Online with Success!

  1. Set up an alert on eBay for your favourite brands or items on your wish list - be as specific as you can

  2. Search for your favourite brands own shops on eBay and Depop who will sell their own preloved and end of season items e.g. Never Fully Dressed

  3. Find some unique sellers on Instagram and online who offer things that suit your style personality, watch their live sales to pick up unique items - you can use hashtags like preloved to find them e.g. @wearnot_wantnot

  4. Shop charity shops online stores such as Oxfam, or many charities have their own eBay stores

  5. Shop with trusted sellers who offer returns on their items if things don't work out

  6. Know your measurements - have your body measurements in a note on your phone, or measure existing items in your wardrobe which are similar. Always ask Vinted/eBay sellers for measurements on brands you haven't tried before

  7. Filter by size, item location and brand to help narrow down your searches, filter by condition if you prefer new with/without tags, I'd also recommend filtering by fabric to avoid man made fibres like polyester

  8. Plan ahead of the season - e.g. look for winter coats in August as you'll be more likely to get a bargain and there will be less competition on auctions/items
