Transitioning into your Spring Wardrobe

I wrote this short piece for a guest blog post over on The Image Cons Co this month and thought it was a great topic to share with you all here too. As we all start to begin to ’change our wardrobes over’. I don’t physically do this in my own wardrobe as I only have a small house, but I will store my big coats and winter knitwear away, to make more space for summer dresses and jackets.

Whenever I’m thinking about transitioning outfits into a new season, I always advise my clients to start with their own wardrobe. It’s easy to get swept up in the latest trends and end up buying things similar to what you have, or that don’t suit your style personality & body shape. Always start by reviewing your wardrobe and then make a wish list for the season of things that are missing.

Some Spring wardrobe staples for me are – a utility jacket, some blue straight leg jeans, a cotton blouse or white shirt, a trench coat, a floral print dress and some white or pale trainers. You can then layer on from there with some trend items.

Below are some of my favourite picks from The Dressing Room, Ebay and AWS London.

My favourite SS21 trends are colour pop, florals and relaxed denim. I always start my search on eBay, as trends are so circular, you’ll often bag a bargain, new with tags for a fraction of the cost of buying it new, making a sustainable purchase too!

If you’d like some more help creating new outfits from your existing wardrobe that suit the new season trends, why not book in with me for a Wardrobe Edit? Or if you’re hunting down your wish list for the new season, my online or In Person Personal Shopping appointments could be perfect for you. Let me take the hassle out of shopping for you and treat yourself!
